What sucks about ALL symptoms are that they are not personalized. They come up for each person in their own way. And sometimes, it's hard to identify them.
For my future reference, I am posting the following two websites:

http://www.healthywomen.org/content.cfm?L1=3&L2=8

http://www.psychiatry24x7.com/bgdisplay.jhtml?itemname=adhd_guest_consumers&s=6

http://www.healthywomen.org/content.cfm?L1=3&L2=6

i posted this on adult_add that my friend elizabeth introduced me to.
it's important to me so i decided to make it into an entry too

i think we have a lot of positive qualities
mfk919mak
2005-07-09 13:05 (link)
Comment Posted Successfully
1. we can think prety much on the second. i know that im way better at dealing in emergency situations than my non ADHD family and friends
2. this might sound weird, but i think that im really smart, and that i get bonus points bcz im smart and im so different in the way i think.
3. i know i speak way faster and jump from topic to topic faster than anyone else i know. thats really entertaining to a lot of my friends.. but it just gets really depressing when they get sick of it. but seriously, i have friends who brag about how i can talk to anyone and just talk for hours, even if i was alone.. lol.. and they love it so they introduce me to cool people.
4. i think the adhd sense of humor is distinct.
my dad and i are adhd, and so are my 2 younger brothers. im not sure about my other siblings. but i know that i enjoy their company more than anyone elses because they make fun of things in the same way i can. we think along the same lines. and i dont think that non adhd people can connect in the same way
5. that brings me to my next point. i think we communicate differently too.. all the adhd ppl in my family have this communicating by eye thing. we can look at each other and tell what we are thinking or we can have just met someone and like sorta understand their personality and be able to tell you some accurate stuff about them even if we just met them
so i think that God blessed me by making me ADHD
but he's making me work for it because i think dealing with my ADHD issues is the biggest challenge of my life
but im sure i can overcome it
i hope this helps
seriously, i think adhd people are ultra special and lucky.
